January 2012 has been a great month for Portfolio team member Simon Ivers who has been promoted to a fully fledged Account Executive. Simon joined the company 18 months ago following his graduation from the University of Huddersfield and has been given the opportunity to work on a range of projects with major clients including Blackpool NHS, Delaware North Companies and Wigan Leisure & Culture Trust.
Following Simon’s promotion he commented ‘2011 was a fantastic year for me personally as I got a lot of opportunities to work on both digital and traditional print based campaigns for some great clients. It was nice to be rewarded for my efforts and I will work just as hard for the team this year.’
Congratulations and well done Simon. What a handsome chap. *(All blog content may or may not be written by Simon Ivers)

This year I’ll be doing the Coniston 14 race again but this time I’ll be raising money for Young Epilepsy (please visit their site and discover the great work they do).
The reason I have chosen this charity is because in May last year our beautiful little granddaugher Isabelle was diagnosed with Epilepsy. The impact both emotionally and mentally that this has had on all our lives has been massive, I’m just so glad our Little Belle is still too young to understand what is happening to her.
We have been at the hospital with our belle many times over the past few months when she has suffered from a really bad episode, when she has fitted so bad that they have had to give her large doses of drugs to relax her so much that the she needs to be put on a ventilator to help her to breath, to see her tiny little body on a large hopsital bed with wires, tubes and monitors attached to her is heart wrenching, and each time you’re never quite sure what the outcome will be.
On a more positive note, more recently her medication has been changed and she seems to be reacting better, she is still undergoing lots of tests and hopefully one day soon they will find the right medication that will control her condition so she can lead as normal life as possible while she grows up.
